【Toronto】On May 24, 2024, the Canada Taiwan Economic and Cultural Development Association (CanTai) held its board meeting at the Ding Tai Fung Restaurant in Scarborough. The founding President, Maggie Lin, will continue to serve on the board after handing over the reins to the new president, Tim Chuang. Group photo including Vice President Philip Cheung, Secretary General Jacky Chou, Treasurer Frank Tu , and Director Heather Lee. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Toronto, Director General Jinling Chen, Director Nathen Liao, Cultural Centre Director Paul Lan, and Deputy Director Janet Hsu attended the dinner to offer congratulations.
During the meeting, the directors reviewed the achievements since the association’s establishment and discussed future plans. The association will continue to promote exchanges between Canada and Taiwan, as well as foster more economic and cultural cooperation projects. And organize more creative and larger-scale activities in mainstream Canadian society, thereby fostering a deeper and broader exchange between Canada and Taiwan. The directors engaged in lively discussions, expressing anticipation for the association to continue its role as a bridge and deliver fruitful results.

會議上,各位理事回顧了自會成立以來的成就,並展望未來的計劃。協會將繼續致力促進加拿大台灣雙方的交流,推動更多的經貿合作項目及文化交流活動。會長在會中表示,我們很高興今年從WHA for Taiwan活動獲得寶貴的經驗,可以在加拿大主流社會中籌辦更大型有創意的宣傳活動,能促進加台民間更深更廣的認識。理事們討論相當踴躍,期待協會將持續發揮橋梁作用,帶來豐碩的成果。
